NewSPAL was formed by users because they wanted to create a more secure future for the
Surrey Performing Arts Library collection.
Many people have already demonstrated support for our vision. NewSPAL continues to need your help as we take over the service from Surrey County Council, and these next two years will be crucial in proving it is a success.
Here are the main ways for you to support the project:

We have a dedicated band of volunteers who have been working hard behind the scenes, cataloguing and giving us logistical help.
We now need to expand our pool of willing helpers as we prepare to open our doors to the public.
Do you have a few hours to spare each week? Would you like to do something worthwhile? If you love meeting people and want to share your love for the performing arts we want to hear from you! Visitors to the library will need a warm welcome, and help finding what they are looking for, and we’d like you to be their first point of contact.
We also need people behind the scenes to select and package up the hired sets ready for collection or dispatch. Cataloguing work will also carry on as we continually improve the search facility and provide a fantastic service to borrowers.
We can offer you a friendly group of like-minded people and a chance to learn new skills.

We need lots of users to join the Library and we plan to expand the service nationwide, not just within Surrey.
You can join NewSPAL with your group, if you want to hire sets of parts, either music or drama.
